Copilot

Copilot is a prominent part of our offering. Its distinctive qualities shouldn't overshadow or feel separate from the core GitHub brand.

Copilot, as a GitHub product, has a sub-brand theme and mark that builds upon the GitHub core brand. Product-specific lockups like GitHub Copilot allow the product to build its own recognition while maintaining connection to the GitHub ecosystem. Use these lockups anywhere the product needs to stand independently while still being recognizable as part of GitHub.

Environments where GitHub’s context and products are obvious, like github.com, can have navigational lockups without the Invertocat (GitHub’s primary brand mark).

Beginning in 2025, GitHub Copilot no longer has a standalone logo that heros the Copilot icon.

Color palette

The Copilot color palette features purples, pinks, and oranges that create a distinctive AI-forward identity while remaining connected to the core GitHub brand.

Purple is thoughtfully injected to highlight Copilot products and features. By overlaying text on neutral backgrounds, we can easily use purple in collaboration with GitHub Green without competing for attention or clashing.

Mascot usage

When using the Copilot mascot in brand applications, less is more. Overuse or use of mascots as space fillers can be distracting and annoying. Preserve the magic of our beloved mascots by using them sparingly, and only when the context is appropriate. They should always surprise and delight.
